Ihuriro Cooperative

The Ihuriro cooperative is a patchouli farmers’ cooperative. The production of the patchouli farmers is sold directly to the Ihuriro cooperative, which promotes ownership of the project’s achievements by the farmers. Through the Ihuriro cooperative and the PIP (Integrated Farmers Plan) approach, community members in general and patchouli farmer households in particular are moving away from day-to-day life and learning to plan, collaborate, share tasks or responsibilities and thus take ownership of and sustain the achievements of the project.
